265 Nurses and Midwives Graduate in Style.

On the 6th of October 2017, Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals held the Nurses and Midwives Graduation and Prize giving ceremony at the Harare International Conference Centre. It was a very colorful event which was attended by many dignitaries.

 

Registered General Nurses and Midwives, as well as specialist Nurses in Ophthalmic Nursing, Intensive Care Nursing, Nurse Anaesthetists, Operating Theatre Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Renal Nursing and Mental Health Nursing graduated with diplomas.

Last year around the same time, the hospital celebrated the graduation and prize giving of a total of 230 graduates, from both the School of Nursing and the School of Midwifery. This year the number of graduands increased to 265. Amongst the students graduating were those with gold medals and silver medals at national level examinations held by the Nurse‚Äôs Council of Zimbabwe.

Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals is indeed the leading institution in Nurse training. The hospital is currently the only training institution in Zimbabwe offering post basic nurse training for Nurse Anesthetists, Renal Nurses and Oncology Nurses.

Dr J. Madzingira (NOIC's board chairperson) who was the Guest of Honour noted the dynamic nature of the nursing profession and also called for a continued capacity building programmes. The nursing and midwifery establishment makes the largest part of the health care workforce at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
